Join teacher Stephen Dunford for the Winter semester of fashion illustration. Over six weeks, children will be trained in sketching the fashion croquis. They will learn the history and evolution of fashion sketching. The semester will focus on the child developing their personal sketching style. Various media will be explored - pencil, marker, collaging and paint.

About teacher Stephen Dunford:

Stephen Dunford has spent over two decades immersed in the world of fashion, tracing back to when he first picked up a sketchbook at age 15. He earned his degree in Fashion Design from Drexel University in 2001 and later completed a Master's in Global Fashion Management at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. Across his career, Stephen has worked at every stage of the creative process — from illustration and collection development to hands-on garment construction — building a practice rooted equally in technical craft and artistic vision. His work extends into drag performance, where he has designed and constructed costumes for performers throughout the Hudson Valley, bringing the same rigor and imagination to the stage that he brings to the sketchpad.

What draws Stephen to design is the challenge of making something feel alive — a silhouette with movement, a line that surprises. That same energy is what he hopes to share with students in his upcoming collection and fashion illustration class, where he'll guide participants through the process of turning an idea into a fully realized piece, from first sketch to finished garment.
