Throwback Thursday: Elizabeth Taylor

There have been many screen sirens over the years.  Yet few have had such prolific and sensual careers are Elizabeth Taylor.  Her Onyx hair and Violet eyes made her stand out in a sea of blondes that were the current de riguer.  WIth over 50 films and 7 marriages, she has an incredible body of work and lust for life to draw from.

Ms. Taylor often appeared in movies that were filmed outdoors.  She loved epic tales that were filmed on location on exotic islands, or on large ranges drenched with sunlight. Below is a montage of some of my favorite photos taken on location.

Beside being a wonderful actress, Elizabeth was also a fierce advocate of the HIV/AIDS movement.  In 1991 she founded the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.  For over 20 years, it had donated over $12 million dollars to the direct care for people with HIV/AIDS. The ETAF also provides community outreach through prevention education.  If you would like to make a donation to the Foundation, please click here.
