Our #MirameMuchacha of the Month is singer/songwriter Monte Mader

1) Where are you from? Where do you spend the most time now?
Gillette, Wyoming originally! I spend most of my time in NYC now but my trips to LA are getting more and more frequent.

2) What is your profession? What do you love best about it?
I am a singer /songwriter, but I work during the day as a personal trainer and exercise physiologist. What I love best about my work is that no matter what I am doing I get to try to make someone's life better. Whether its a little encouragement through a song or helping someone achieve weight loss or renew their confidence in themselves. I enjoy what I do every single day. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have that opportunity.

3) What do you hope your work contributes to the world?
I hope that at least one person begins to believe in themselves and their power. It took me a long, LONG time to find that in myself and I would like to live my life trying to give that power to others. I lost 90 pounds and had a few big failures before I really found my footing and my belief in myself. I can't think of a better way to live my life or pursue my life than to try to help others chase what they love.

4) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Fitness will always be an important part of my life but I see it being secondary. In five years, I see myself working full time in music, specifically songwriting. I plan on having several songs in placement for tv and film and at least one grammy for a song I have written. Maybe by that time I will have moved somewhere warm and near the ocean!

5) What is your favorite beach destination?
The most amazing beach destination I have ever been to is the coast of the Mediterranean Sea near Caesarea in Israel. The water is the most exquisite blue I have ever seen, the gorgeous beach with the backdrop of the ruins of Caesarea. I was in love instantly and never wanted to leave.
