Boy what a blizzard week it has been! With almost a foot of snow outside of my door, it is amazing that I have wrapped my head around bathing suits. I guess we are all dreaming of the sunnier days!
From December 5-15th, Mirame, along with 29 emerging designers and alumni of Design Entrepreneurs NYC participated in a Pop Up Shop in New York's Union Square. Together we organized and executed the shop in a temp industrial space on 15th street. It was super fun, especially with our partners New York Cares and Stonehenge Realty.
The goal of the event was to support small business as well as give back to the community. There was a coat drive on site that collected gently worn winter wear. By the end of the week, we had collected a dozen huge bags of coats! Hopefully we made some New Yorkers lives a little warmer on these frigid days. In addition, all designers donated 10% of their proceeds to NY Cares. If you don't know about this organization, you should. NY Cares is a network that organizes and coordinates volunteer outreach throughout NYC.
The week was also filled with wonderful entertainment. We had various performers, including one of Madonna's fav Djs, DJ Mary Mac. We also had Broadway star Angel Reda on site performing Christmas ballads acoustic style. What a voice she has! A few of my other favorites were Danielle Cardona's electro pop and Worldcast Inc's DJ on Demand, telecasting straight from Toronto. You can import a DJ from any part of the world straight to your event. Amazing concept!
We had such as fun time at the Pop Up. It was great to present Miarme's new Basics collection. People were coming out to buy our favorite 90s sport style, even amidst the blizzard. We also ALMOST sold out of the Siena and Night Cap...fans will have to wait until early Spring for our next delivery - but, new colors are coming!
Enjoy the photos below. DENYC PopUp was a grand old time. And if you missed it, don't worry, you can still get 20% off sitewide with the code BASICS.
